Default 6.0L LQ4... should I buy?

I found a LQ4 motor out of a 2001 2500HD for sale on craigslist. I went and looked at the engine and it is complete with everything including wiring harness, accesories, accesory brackets, intake to pan. The guy told me that it has around 100,000K (he couldnt tell me exact milage... fishy) on it but he pulled it out of his truck to do an HD duramax conversion, however, said truck was not to be found so I dont know if he really did (fishy). He also told me that it was making some kind of noise when he pulled it out but wouldnt tell me what the noise was or he said he couldnt even really describe it to me, but... he said it still runs or it did when it came out (big red flag). I looked at it and it had 317 casting heads and I couldnt tell anything was wrong from a visual inspection. Heres the kicker, he said he would sell it to me for $300. Pretty good price I think.

Bottom line, does this sound like a good deal even if the motor could be screwed up internally? Should I buy anyway.

NEED QUICK REPLIES ASAP IN CASE I NEED TO ****** THIS UP, THANKS.

For $300 buck why not? I would but it and take the pan off and see if anything looked fishy. If you get all the harness and stuff you could even get it running on a stand and listen to it for noises before you go through the trouble of putting it in your car.

anyone else have any thoughts here? Should I just hold out and save up for an LQ9 or an LQ4 in better shape with lower milage?

well worth it ,everythings there and once you get it apart and see if anythings wrong with it, if there is the harness alone would make you your money back ,if not then you have a bad *** motor for a cheap price
