no headers are the same however pacesetter even though they may be one of the cheaper headers (usually 399 coated) are not close to one of the worse headers. They are very good quality and make great power. The only big step up I would say would be to a high end stainless header with high velocity collector.

I have the coated version with their ORY and they have been fine. Even with coating the collectors have rusted to ****, but that's what happens when you drive it through a few Chicago winters. I picked up 25 at the wheels with their headers, ory and a catback.

air pump and y pipe
i also plan to take off my air pump does anyone have any tips why or why not too. my pacesetter LTs came with a 3" y-pipe is that as good as anyother ory??????

you might has well delete the air system. its basic purpose is to pump fresh air through the exhaust manifolds to heat up the cats. if your going with the ORY route, it makes no sense to have the air system.
but then on the other hand, if you do remove the AIR, youll get a SES light until you tune it out. but if your already deleting the cats, youll get an SES light anyway because youll have no more rear o2's. the codes need to be tuned out if your state does any emission inspections.
most ORY flow the same, i wouldnt worry.

[QUOTE=99 ls1 z28;11655187] im not really familiar with handheld tuners, but i dont think you can tune out codes like that. try posting in the PCM or Dyno section and see what comes up.
you can either invest in EFIlive, HpTuners, a dyno tune, or a mail order tune.

Op,
I have Pacesetter uncoated headers that I bought new on ebay for just over a $100, then I wrapped them and they have been on the car for 3 years now.
As far a using a handheld tuner, I bought a Diablo tuner on ebay for about a $100, and used it to tune-out the ses light after I disabled the air system and tuned out the rear o2 sensors, but I am running high-flow cats.
This has been the setup for 3 years, no problems.

Pacesetter headers are cheap headers, their welds are not as good as other brands, their fitment is not good, their coating sucks, but for the price, they CANNOT be beat, their collectors arent the best either... but as i said.. for the price... go for it. or get some used headers off here.
