Default Next mod?!

Alright, so I'm still waiting on the fronts to complete my Pro Kit and I'm hopefully picking up the side skirt for my d/s boo boo. My question to you is; what should I do next? I plan on making it faster obviously (who doesn't want that) but, what would YOU do next if you were me and why?

My main goal is for my car to be DD'd at max a couple times a week, obviously pump gas, with around 450hp @ the wheels. Just gauging some interest in what you all would do. Car is an '01 - A4 with 60K. Mods for now are a lid and SLP's LM2. I know not too much going on but hey, ya gotta start somewhere.

How much money do you want to spend ? Do you need emissions ?

To reach your goal I would go with long tubes, and a Y pipe, a nice head and cam package, with a stall to match. Add some sub frames, lca's, panhard rod, and some sticky tires. Go have her tuned.

It's going to be over time, so I don't want to spend an astronomical amount of money but I don't want it done cheap. I'm gonna get the good stuff and do it right the first time. Yes, I do need emissions but no smog or anything like that. Just emissions. Which long tubes would you recommend, as well as a y pipe? I do know I want to get a h/c package so what sizes would you recommend with that as well. I'd like it to lope pretty good but then again it's going to be driven a bit.

If you want stainless headers get either kook's or ARH headers, or you can save a little and get some coated pacesetters. For your emissions is it just a visual or do they stick the sniffer in the tail pipe? Your head and cam choice will depend on your emission requirements. I have got most of my mods from texas speed, they have been great with customer service and price.

I was looking at the Pacesetters. For emissions, last time I did that was a couple years ago due to my car being out of state so I didn't have to do it. But when they did it, they just did a visual. Not sure what they're gonna do next time. They haven't sent me anything in the mail in god knows how long.

Before you order any parts I would look in to what you need to have a "legal" car. Or go to the place you get it inspected at and ask them if they would pass you with out emission equipment. If you don't need cats or pass a sniffer you can get a off road Y pipe and headers and save your self the $$$ and trouble. Also you can get as crazy you want with the cam.

1badWS6- you simply need to pass an OBDII scan for emissions. No check engine light=pass. You could roll in burnin' the good stuff, and as long as the PCM says all is go, you pass. No smog equipment needed, but if you do remove of relocate any of it, it needs to be simulated or tuned.

I have spent A LOT of time dealing with the IEPA.

Yeah now that you mention it, I think that's what I heard the other day. I was asking around and this is what I got. But, that's good to know. As soon as I get paid, I'm probably gonna pick up some 1 3/4" Coated Pacesetters..

If you don't already have good shocks, then that would definitely be a next(should have been a first). Lowering springs + stock shocks = dump truck ride quality and really squirly handling.

You could start right here with ARH Longtubes, NGK Plugs, and MSD Wires. And at the same time purchase them from a sponsor, who is also a great guy to do business with. Check it out. 99BlancoSS will totally take care of you and give you a great price.

Start with suspension, subframe connectors, LCA's, torque arm then exhaust.

Not a bad choice. Hey, check out LPP stainless headers. They have great pricing, and they just look way nicer than any coated product. I hear they have great fitment too.

Yeah thanks for all the advice. I'm gonna have to think about what to do next. I have been looking around at some shocks but I don't really wanna buy Koni's or anything that expensive... but I am going to pick up some new side skirts today though. They're red too so hopefully I won't have to get them blended.

I had KYB shocks on my old car (not an F-Body) and they worked great. Durability wise they were excellent. They are also much cheaper compared to Koni or Bilstein.

I'm gonna have to check out some shock options. I picked up the rocker panels from a member and installed the d/s and removed the door trim. It looks a little shady but I'm gonna have to get it blended and maybe clear coated again.
