Default Best Place To By Crate LS1

Where is the best place to buy a crate LS1 from. The cheapest i have found was the local advanced auto for around 3,000 dollars. Im in need of one.

The cheapest would probable to be buy a used one private party, or one that needs a rebuild, either way I would go through the engine to make sure its good to go. I doubt you will find much cheaper then 3k from a company, and im assuming that includes some kind of warenty??? Another option would be to check local savage yards and see if they have anything

I got my shortblock from texas speed, I have nothing but good things to say about them. Last I checked they had forged long blocks for around 5. If you're wanting to have a modded car that's definately the route I would take.

Fast, Reliable, Cheap. Pick any two.....Usually cheap and fast don't go together. You said best place, I don't know if they are a sponsor or not but Mast Motorsports has some awesome long-blocks. If you were to go the shortblock route and build a motor to your specs which is what I would reccomend, HKE can't be beat for quality and reliability let-alone go fast power.

Crate Engine depot had the caddy 400hp LS6 LB motors for $3500 +/- awhile back. They try to sell you the more $$$$ Vette motor for more but there is really difference. I have the part # at work. PM and I can get it to you Monday. It is the motor that went in the Escalade a while back IIRC.....I almost bought one.
