This subject comes up from time to time and used to be a hot subject back in 01 and 02.
Did the LS1 in the F-Body come from GM with Mobil 1 ?
Or was it only the Corvette that received Mobil 1 ?
Are Vette engines broken at the factory ?
Here is a scan of a post I copied way back in 02 by " fbodfather " (Scott Settlemire) on the old SLP forum.

I think this is what you are looking for.
https://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English...ics/Myths.aspx
Engines that come from the factory with Mobile 1 or other synthetic oils are not pre-broken-in. The close tolerances in modern engines allow use of synthetic from the begining. Of course you follow the breakin directions for the first 500 miles and change the oil, etc.
I do not know if GM put Mobile 1 only in the Corvette LS-1's and not in the other LS-1's, but it seems to me that if they did they would have said so for marketing reasons.

Back in 01-02 many people thought the Vette LS1 was treated special.
Every now-and-then this topic pops up....and who better to settle the discussion than Scott Settlemire himself.

Wrong when discussing late 01 and 02 cars from GM. ( This is why I posted the letter in the first post. )
Read the part about late 01 and 02 ALL LS1's ( not just certian models )
iirc, SLP did push the Castrol Sytec at some point for the SS and the FireHawk.
The factory fill on the Vette was nerver questioned.
