Default Camaro Weight

What is the weight difference between a Hardtop Camaro and a T-Top? Also what does 8 cyl camaro has that a 6 cyl dont? Im thinking about using a 6cyl frame for my 6.0 build? Is the rear end different? Or is the only difference is that 1 is a 8 and 1 is a 6?

Just curios thanks in advance.

not sure on the weight difference.

4th gen 6 cylinder Camaros usually came with open differentials, while the Z28/SS 8 cylinder models have a limited slip differential. If you're doing a 6.0 build though, I'd highly recommend replacing the 10 bolt with something stronger anyway

Yea I am but I could put a posi unit in the 6cyl rear end and a gear. I really dont wanna drop 2500 for a good rear end that would be in the future.

^^^ every car is different so its hard to pinpoint an exact weight. I think 3500 is a good guideline to start at though. I think t-top and hardtop cars are very similiar in weight.

Use the search, this topic is asked every few weeks.
There is no difference in the chassis, and these cars weight anywhere from 3300lbs to 3600lbs depending on options etc.

The V6 car has softer springs that promote weight transfer. Lots of all out drag guys on a budget swap to the softer V6 springs.

I'm not too sure. Other than the weight of the glass and brackets for the t-top there shouldn't be much of a difference. I don't think there's any real heavy extra support that had to be used. Either way, it's defiantly not going to be as much of a delta as between the hard top and convertible.
