Story with question at the end
2000 Firebird Formula M6 Bolt-ons w/ tune, Lowered
So, I was driving home from work today and I was behind this motorcycle cop for part of the drive. About half-way home, at a stoplight, the cop was going straight, and I was turning right. So I pulled up next to his right, stopped, and made my right turn. I TOTTALLY gassed it! Like many of the F-bodys on this forum, my car is LOUD. Now, I didn't break traction, and I didn't floor it all the way, and I accelerated right to the speed limit and no higher. The cop, who initially was going straight, made a right hand turn behind me, followed me (even changing lanes with me) for a couple more stoplights, and I am piecing together a story for the cop when I was pulled over. I was gonna tell him that I had just installed a new clutch, and that I was trying to keep it from chattering. So, when he was behind me at those next few stoplights, I was gently revving and letting out the clutch when starting from a complete stop, purposely, like a newbie, to help with my explanation for the cop. Then, at the stoplight right before my house, I made a left, and he made a U-turn and took off.
I'm certain that he ran my plates, which would have checked out as all clear.
My question- and its more for piece of mind than anything, I don't think that this situation calls for a ticket in the mail, does it? What do you guys think?

I dont know how california is but I know they did away with the tickets by mail here in MN simpley becouse they cannot prove its you driving the car. I mean if they didnt check the ID of the driver how can they say it was you driving? Thats just my .02 though.

He was just running your tags, driver's license, warrants since you brought such obvious attention to yourself. No worries since you were clean but raising a 'red flag' like you did would be really asinine if you had a suspended license or obvious violation of some type. Showing up cops is a 'no win' situation. Low key is the way to go in any circumstance with cops present.

By getting on it when you made the right, the cop thought you were ******* with him. Which you were. (Good job, BTW. LOL) So he decided he would **** with you. Which he did, by following you to make you nervous. I don't see a ticket in the mail. I see it as a wash. But if I'm wrong, I would most definitely fight it. Repeat this, "That wasn't me driving officer. Why would I egg on a cop in my own car?" LOL Good story.

Sadly I have to agree with the above. Although I can appreciate you "sticking it to the man", doing something to intentionally mess with a cop and not thinking he would follow you is pretty stupid. Even worse is the fact that you are worried about a ticket which you would have no one to blame for but yourself. As others said, you shouldn't be expecting a ticket in the mail, if he had you for something you would've been pulled over.
On a less responsible note, this story made me smile.
On a realistic note, you sir are retarded.
