Default borla exhaust question

i have a 2000 camaro ss with the borla cat back exhaust i was wanting to put the borla off road y pipe, wondering if will make louder, want car to be quite a bit louder than is now, car came with this exhaust already on it when i bought it. also is there any disadvantages to this that could hurt the motor after you get it tuned, i live in the dallas area so if you now a good tuner let me know, thanks for the help

just take the car to a local muffler shop and have then fab ya up a 3inch y, if you dont have one already on the car, a borla off road y would be a waste of cash, plus i dont even think they make a y.

i bet a shop can do it a whole lot cheaper. theyll set you up with something nice and loud. with borla you are just paying for the name, relaly.

btw, theres no need to make more than 1 thread about that. just add it all into 1. also, it should go in GEN III external  just some helpful advice.

do you have the baffle out of the pipe? That will make it louder....

the baffle is in the pass. side pipe that by-passes the muffler. There is a flange with 3 bolts, take it apart and remove the baffle (if it has one ) then bolt the pipe back together. really simple.

Or just take the pipe off. That's what I did and I love the sound, although it gets a little annoying cruising at 80 in 6th gear. It looks weird with one tip but I'm gonna put the tips back on and hang'em somehow but without the small i-pipe that connects to the exhaust.
