You could see a few hp/lbs but the sound alone is enough to make the switch imo. When you start adding more mods the TD's will really start to show there performace over a catback.

A well done merge/y will cost virtually nothing at 500rwhp as seen here........He use a stainless y IIRC but I believe the aluminized FM is as good for flow....This is one of the 2-3 best threads EVER on here IMO.....

I have TSP true duals, and i dont scrape on anything really, however i am not lowered.
But i think i could also do a better job of tucking it up there, i just havent done it.
My question is, why cant someone build an oval exhaust for these cars that utilizes the same cross sectional area of a 3" pipe, but is maybe 2" in thickness from top to bottom, so that it would tuck up nicely?

Yea you guys who work in driveways know more than PG who makes his living doing this stuff Carry on cause I need more some more humor to carry me to the weekend
I am not saying TD's can't support more power I know it can... I am saying up to a certain level the difference between the two is moot....and only a few guys on here run enough power for it to make any diff at all...
Obviously PG knew it could support his 500 RWP goal or he would have run TD's!!!!
Why is this so hard for you to understand??????

... again that's a retarded argument. You're taking one car that was purpose built for a specific goal (not max power) and saying because it has a y-pipe setup that it's the best choice.

I agree with powershift and nssane, everyone knows there is no end all to anything, everyone has there own preference and goals
I went from stock exhaust to LT's, crappy merge ORY, and LM1 and it sounded like crap, raspy redneck popping and migrain inducing drone.
I threw on Moroso spiral flow mufflers on the end and SLP catted Y with a good merge and now it sounds awesome, deep smooth tone, very little popping even on engine braking, not quite as good as duals but close enough for me.

I love my true duals. If y-pipe is so awesome, why do the all out race cars run mufflers with dumps right off the collectors, essentially a very short true dual system? Wouldn't it make more sense to run a y-pipe with it dumped right after the merge?
