Default Could a IAC sensor be messed up without throwing a code?

My car buckles under accleration at low rpms, you can hear back firing in the exhaust (poping noises), but no codes...
Once RPM picks up it pulls crazy.
If I pull it out of gear while coasting, RPM drops drastically, sometimes the car will die....
Once I've come to a stop the car returns to normal RPM... although idle is sometimes a little choppy.

Any ideas? I've tried everything...
