Help please... cant get the head off my block to save my life... pics
Well I inherited a small block 400 a while ago... going in the 69 GTO project
The motor seems to be in great shape
It was rebuilt, ran in a blazer for a while, than pulled... i thought about dropping it straight into the GTO but decided I wanted to build it up a little different and better
SO i started trying to take it apart... only thing is
THE F**KING HEAD IS STUCK ON AND WONT COME OFF
Ive tried putting pressure on the head with an engine hoist and using a pry bar in the intake port, water hole, exhaust port.... ive tried chisseling it out (carefully!)...getting some of this gasket dissolver.... anything and everything and the ************ wont budge
Ive tried for 2 days now and am at wits end....
any ideas thoughts or suggestions??? WHY WONT IT COME OFF!!!!!!!!!!
I have taken a total of 17 head bolts out.....
Heres a link to my photos of the head and engine... id of uploaded them on tech but cant get it to work

from the pics, it looks like the block and heads were painted as one. try scoring the paint where the head meets the block.
you got a 20+ year old engine. its gunna take some muscle to get it loose. spray the outside and the inside (through the plug hole) with some penetrating oil.
