If the O2 is shot the car might start to just dump fuel into the motor because its not picking up the sensor. I would get it fixed. Just go to a ORY and dummy sensors

This happened to me, only without the dented cats (it just kept throwing the rear o2 code). If you're on a budget, like I was, just gut them and have the rear o2's tuned out. The only adverse effect that comes with doing this is that your car will smell like it is running rich on the outside, but it isn't. It just smells that way because the cats aren't taking the unburnt fuel out like before. Plus it improves the sound of a stock exhaust.

Cats are cheap and do not rob you of notable power unless you're really modded. Please give some respect to other drivers on the road and stay with a cat. I can always smell when I'm behind a car running catless, be it around town or on the highway. You can get a Magnaflow cat for under $100.

First things first, though. Get your codes scanned. Many auto parts stores (Autozone, Advance, etc.) will do it for free. Depending on what the problem is, you may or may not be hurting your car, and you may or may not be losing power because of it.
