Why would you sell your car because of some snow. Surely you can scrape together some money for snow tires. It will feel like an entirely different car and will have no problems with snowy hills. A few years back I picked up a set of Blizzaks already mounted on steel rims from the classifieds on this site, paid $225 and they are currently being used for their 4th winter.

Just do something like that . But seriously dont get rid of your car if you dont have to I say suck it up for right now and save some money during the summer and get some Blizzaks for the winter.

The only time I'm happy that Wichita doesn't have hills is when there's snow or ice. Blizzaks do great here. More of a challenge in Lawrence but worth a try, as that's your cheapest alternative. I have two extra Blizzaks that are brand new, and a couple of wheels, too. PM me if you're interested.

Man get an Isuzu trooper, any year but a 99, or get a 99 and keep an eye on the oil. They are huge inside, run forever, are comfortable and can be fixed up cheap. Go to planetisuzoo.com and look around, there are LOTS on there with well over 300k miles. I have had 2 and loved them both. They can be had for $1500 all over the place, old body styles cheaper. Lots of guys over here buy them for deer lease trucks because they're cheaper than 4 wheelers and can hold a lot more, plus more reliable.
Here's my 99, sold it to buy my wife a new car:
Besides, it's better to walk through the snow than drive in a Dodge.

Needs some weight in the back and snow tires. Someone on midwestce was selling their snow tires/wheels for $200 that should be near Kansas.
Or buy a stock size set of wheels/tires (if yours are nicer than that) and some snow chains. You will not get stuck in snow chains.
