BUY IT NOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha i know if i had the oppurtunity for a vette especially one that nice, i'd do it in a second.

Get the C5 over the C6 in my opinion. The C6 feels more like a caddy than a vette....however you will have a better block to work with. but....the C5 isnt a slouch either. I would say get the C5, throw longtubes, forge the internals and throw a supercharger on it and call it a day. Wouldnt hurt to go through the drivetrain too. Hell, Get the C5 and throw a LS7 in the damn thing. Would cost you the same as a C6 in the end, but you will have one sick @$$ car All depends on what you want.

If the insurance doesnt change a whole lot, I would get that C5 without a doubt.
Its going to hold its value a lot better than your Z28 down the road whenever you want to get something different or upgrade toa C6. It also has less than half the miles your car has and thats another plus.
Since your young, single, and can afford it (if insurance is ok) than DOOOOOOO IIIIITTTTTT.

LS2 C6s are getting more affordable now, much better looking cars than C5s and a slightly better engine to start with.
I'm planning to skip the LS2 though and move right to an LS3.

thanks for the info triche. when I was in mechanics school I was an apprentice under a 30 year vette mechanic. I learned a ton under him. all the tricks to work on the vettes are still fresh in my head. I think they are way easier to work on than the camaros. as far as C6 vs C5. I like the C5 more as far as looks. I like the pop-up headlights and their price is a lot more appealing to me.
I couldnt get ahold of my insurance agent yet, but I will definitely update u on what I find out. thanks for all your input

[QUOTE=RPM WS6;12845081]I've never cared much for the look of any C5 (can't stand the rear), but the FRC/Z06 style looks the worst, IMO.
I totally agree.. The rear looks really big with those styles

Ummmmm.........I am going to risk it all and say, keep your car and be happy for now. You stated that you just started working your current job, so I will assume that you are on a budget. Its just me, but I think that for now, you should stop looking at the vette. It will be sold soon enough and your hunger for THAT car will will also gone. Your car looks to be in very nice condition based upon the picture's and the car will soon enough be all yours. I am just saying that with todays economy, sit back and take some deep, deep breaths and stay within your means. Also, if something happened and you suddenly found yourself without a job, you might be in too deep with payments, insurance, school and everything else needed on a daily basis. Sorry, if I sound too conservative.

I was looking at a Vette..but I decided against it for now..I'll just keep what I have, pay my Truck off when I get back from the desert, and enjoy no debt for a while..
The C6's are starting to grow on me aswell..give it a few years and they will be down to the price of a C5 Z06.
Ya ok..that's a negative..lol
