Thanks, I do seem to have a theme going.... silver with black tops.
All the pics of my '98 are old though, it has TTII wheels now.
The '02 Z is the bastard child, being pewter. I didn't really want that color, but it was a good deal at the time.

I am in the same boat, I will soon be financing for a SS, I have good credit so hopefully I will be able to. Already approved from Chase, but they dont know the vehicle so hopefully
I wont run into any problems. But check out credit unions supposable they are easier to work with. I would like to know if someone finances you in case I have issues lol.

Exactly. I don't do loans or even credit cards. I pay cash in full for every car, tool, equipment, etc. I own. If I don't have cash, I don't buy it. Old school thinking, but that is why I have no debt. Plus I build my own cars and and do everything else myself. No need to pay someone do do something I can do.
If not, you should consider building some sort of credit history (at least a credit card, just pay it in full every month and it'll never cost you a dime but still give you some credit history). You'll get a better mortgage rate that way. That is, assuming you want a house (most old school thinkers do).

My '00 Trans Am I bought new, and I put down a fair amount of money & got a loan for the rest.
The '95 Firebird I paid for with PayPal since it was only a grand, and I just acquired it three years ago.
I just paid off my truck earlier this month, so all my vehicles are both worn-out & paid for now

unless you cant get a loan paying cash isnt always your best option. while i put alot down on my GTO i qualified for 0% APR so there was no reason to pay it in full or pay it off early. i kept my money in a bank or elsewhere making money for me instead of GM having it.

You pay cash for houses too? If so, good work.

lol. I should have worded that better. No way in hell can I pay for a house in cash. Only my cars and tools, and bills. I'm 24 and have always payed cash for stuff. I have friends that go nuts when they get credit cards, some have up to $30,000 debt. I can't do that. Currently I am starting a business so I can afford to move out. I never even had a credit card, but that is changing very soon. And yes, I want a house I guess some of my money savings ideas rubbed off on me from my grandparents. If I don't have the $$ to buy something, I won't get it. I won't go out and try to get a 20,000 car, while having $5000 cash, and have to rely on a loan so I can get it. It will take me longer to get that car, but when I do, I own it entirely. I'm not a big fan of being part owner of anything. But for some reason, I am part owner of the business I am starting lol.

The Trans Am was bought from a Mazda dealer then the loan was transferred to the bank with a lower interest rate and is now paid off. The Camaro is financed through GMAC for another 1 1/2 years. Carmax will give you whatever car you want if you have 1/3 down.

Also, if you get a card with cash back options, you can actually make money on the deal. Case in point, I've had my primary credit card for over 10 years now, and I purposely charge as much of my daily expenses as I can on that card. Now, I pay the amount in full each month, and have never once carried a balance on that card - but each year I've earned between $100-200 in cash back. So it's been about $1,500 in free money over the last decade. Nothing huge, but still, had I paid cash for all that stuff I'd have $1500 less to my name.
The trick with credit cards is to avoid the feeling that it's not real money that you're spending. I treat it like a debit card, meaning that I don't make a charge that I can't cover with the money currently sitting in my account. That way, I never have to worry about how I'll pay it off. Follow that path, and you'll NEVER get in trouble with credit cards.

Back in high school I bought a broke down 91 firebird for $500 fixed it and sold it for $2,000. Then bought an LT1 Z28 for $2,300 fixed it up and sold it for $4,000. Put in another 2k that i had saved up and finally got my LS1.
