Default Is my car missing something?

Last weekend my brother bought a 02 Z28 T56. Car is very nice but thats besides the point. When I looked under the hood I noticed an "extra" cable attched to the crescent shaped piece of metal that the throttle cable attaches to. It is to the left of the throttle cable and is attached to the "throttle blade by a black plastic square looking thing. I am wondering what it is for I haven't ever noticed it before on other LS1 f-bodies and I just looked and its not on my 02 SS T56. Any ideas would be great.

I don't remember if my car has the little black box, but I think it does. If it does, it's cruise control. If not it's traction control. I don't have TC, so if the black box is on mine, then it's CC. I'll look at some point.

I KNOW that my car HAS cruise control and traction control. My car DOES NOT have that second cable attached to the throttle cable blade. My brothers car HAS the "extra" cable and I know for a fact his Z28 DOES NOT have traction control.

traction control module has cruise control built into it. the accelerator/cruise is all in one TB cable. You have two seperate cables without TCS/ASR

Oh I think I got you thats a little interesting though. His is the only one I have ever seen that have had 2 cables. It has always been just one. I guess all of the cars that I've looked at have both CC and TCS/ASR or neither of them so its always been the 1 cable. My brothers with the two cable is the first I have seen like that. WEIRD. Oh well thanks for answering my question.

My brother's 02 SS has a little different setup for the Cruise Control than my 99 Formula.

I'm not sure why your two cars of the same year would have different CC, but this may be the case.

Without a picture of what you're talking about, we can only speculate.

Post a cople pics and show us the difference.

The Traction control unit is located on the right fenderwell behind the battery both the throtte cable (from the gas pedal) and cruise control cables run to this unit and are coupled. Then a single cable runs from there to the Throttle Body.

Non traction control equipped cars that still have Cruise will have 2 cables on the Throttle body.
