Precise shift point for the one-to-two
Where, precisely, is the hot spot among the RPM's where a completely smooth clutch engagement can be achieved for the 1st to 2nd shift in a stock M6 LS1? I find that this shif is always a tiny bit jerky, whereas 3 to 4, 4 to 5, will both engage entirely smooth around 2100 RPMs. I realize that the lower gears are more sensitive to clutch engagement, but I'd like to get a bit more precise on the 1st to 2nd.
In brief: where on the RPM curve are you dropping the clutch into second gear in your M6?

I shift around 2500... just take it nice and easy and you'll be fine. Release the clutch slowly. I actually start pressing the gas just a little bit before I fully release the clutch. It makes it smoother. I never really take off fast unless I want/need to.

First should be revved a little higher than the other gears for smoother engagement into second because the drop is the largest between 1 and 2 as far as ratios are concerned. The other gears are closer together in terms of ratio, so RPM differences aren't as large.

Im not sure what it is on LS1 cars but every car should have a "perfect" shift point where the shifter will smoothly engage from 1st-2nd and so on without having to push the clutch in. My first car was a 5 speed eclipse and my dad was able to shift it without the clutch and it was really smooth (no grinding)
