5.3 with a miss?

5.3 with a miss? I am posting this for my friend. I hope you guys can help us figure this out. He has a 04 GMC with a catback CAI 5.3. Last night we go to get in his truck and it was a cold start as soon as he cranks it starts missing BAD. He turns it off cranks it again and it quits mising all together. We thought it may be bad wires so he bought new wires today we put them on and it still misses on a cold start really bad then it will stop missing probably a minute later. Once the truck is warm every time that he starts it it will miss for ~10 secs. then stop and run just fine. BTW the plugs are new with lass than 10k miles on them. I'm hoping for your guys help we are kind of baffled on what is going on. And NO SES light has come on at all.
