SS on the Autobahn

I just read the link you posted. Sounds like the limiter is still there. In order for me to change this, will I need to get a copy of HP Tuners and fix it, or can anyone with a copy do this? Will it mess with my tune? I apologize for the juvenile questions, but I really know nothing about tuning.
Kind of on the same topic: does anyone have a recommendation for where to buy a copy of HP Tuners? What all do I need to get?
Thanks

I guess it must be the speed limiter. No matter how many hp you throw at that, you won't go any faster:-)
My own Autobahn experience: 246 kph (about 152.9 mph and the car was still pulling nicely! But I had to get off the throttle because somewhere in the distance a truck started passing a car and caravan :-( That should be forbidden!
The car felt really stable I have Koni 4/4's an Stran0 1.2 springs) and the brakes (EBC) had no problem quickly throwing of speed.
It felt like there was way more in it...

My cousin maxed out my Speedo with T-tops off and windows down, with 2 people in the car. This was when i visited him in florida.... he knows the roads and highways, it was a dumb thing to do, but i wasn't driving... felt fine though. Surprisingly the only problem was the little plastic cover for the wiper arms that covers the bolt popped up, but it did't fly off.

Sorry, no LS1. See sig.
I am driving to Zurich this weekend for a half Iron-Man. I'll have my g/f take vids and pics. The weather is warm and sunny, should be able to make damn good time tonight!!
I've had a few trucks pull in front of me. Thankfully I talked to Sam Strano about brakes and he got me some nice ones.
Look me up when you get here. PM me for my info.
It's not the Mercedes that you have to worry about. It's those damn Audi Station Wagons. Those things fly. I had a hard time keeping up with two of them this past Wednesday (the roads were wet). We were doing about 125, and I was slowing down for the curves. Started getting hairy.
Speed limiter, not the gears. the 3.73s put me at top speed near the top of my rpms. I can accelerate from 60 to 160 in sixth with no problem. Again fellas, not the gears.
When I get back I'll do what I can to upload the vids to YouTube and put the link in here. Should I post the link in another thread as well?

I didn't get any pics or vids on the autobahn. It was too dark Friday night to shoot a vid when I got to a point on the road where I could open her up.
But... I set the cruise at 125mph and stayed in the left lane passing just about everything when out of nowhere came a set of head lights in the rearview. I said, "Oh crap" and my girlfriend said, "What, another Audi Station Wagon?" I wasn't sure, so I pulled one lane to the right and let him pass. It was an early to mid 90's Porsche 911, I figured I may as well try to hang with him. I got back in the left lane and accelerated and caught up to him. We were doing about 140mph, and then the curves came.
My guess is that he was trying to loose me, but I hung right with him. He sped up to 150, I stayed with him. We stayed there for about 15 miles (about 4 or 5 minutes) and he pulled to the right. I took the lead, he followed. Same thing. 150 and he was right there. I went all in. Topped out at 160, and he was starting to fall back. I went between 150 and 160 (verified with the gf's gps, she was watching it, I was busy watching the road) and he kept falling back. Well, as with all things, this good time came to an end. I had to exit soon, so I slowed down. He got beside me, gave me a wave and a head nod and kept on.
All said, we covered 60 miles on that little jont. Sure was fun.
