Default Car shifting to soon?

I noticed that at wot from 1st to 2nd, my car shifts at 5800. Then from 2nd to 3rd, it shifts at 5500. Is the car shifting to soon? I thought a bolt on geared car should shift a bit higher. Any thoughts?

Two things....

- Are you going by the stock tach? It's not 100% accurate. When I use a scanner to log data during a run, I've found that my WOT shift points are usually at least 100rpm higher than what the tach shows.....sometimes 200rpm higher.

- Do you have tuning for the gears? If not, that is most likely your problem. Or if you do, the tune might need to be adjusted. Stock shift points should have been set right at 5900-6000 rpm.

Ya, I'm going off the stock tach. Speed inc said they made the changes to the pcm when they put the rear gear in.

If you can log a run just to verify tach accuracy, that would be best. If it turns out that the shift is actually at 5500, then you'll have to have the tune adjusted to get back to proper shift points.
