question on the value of ls1 fbodies
im looking to buy a LS1 camaro or TA next summer, how much well the value of ls1 fbodys decrease (if at all) between now and year or 2 from now..ive seen a LS1/M6 car for 5k with 120,xxx miles in good cond..or i can live with a A4 and spend 4k then do a M6 swap later down the road..
i think if they decrease value within the next year i think $750 about? i have no idea on how car values work..so any advice will help..

Really depends on the car, and also what the owner is willing to part with it for. Your best bet is to find a stock one from some old man/lady to whom its just a "car" and has no sentimental value, unlike us around here who like ORANGESS stated, "overvalue" our cars.

You aren't touching an LS1 car that's in anything better than junkyard condition for $4k in my area. $6-8k would be more realistic for a 100-120k mile, decent condition car. Thing is, these prices haven't changed much in the last couple years.
It's not that people necessarily overvalue their cars, in many cases it's just what the local market and supply/demand dictates.

Maybe you will come across a great deal like I found. The guy I bought my 02 WS6 from sold it for $10,200 because of a nagging wife...I witnessed her doing it to when I went out to test drive it There are some deals to be had/found...just keep your eye out and have patience.

I bought my 99ss from a 70 year old man for 4k. lol, car had halo headlights, nitrous kit, longtubes, y pipe, stock style cat back...3.73's. he had no idea what it was worth it had about 90k on it at the time. Car was easily worth double that. just keep your eye out.
I also just buoght an 04 gto m6 with 30k for 8k. so theres another example lol

i paid 6k for my super clean 99m6 hardtop w/68k, and where i live thats a helluva deal, it booked for 7200 at the time. the guy needed to sell.
the value is determined by mileage. so if its guna be a strip car u might not care so much about the odometer. but if its a street car or a dd than the odometer should be a very big influence

For a clean stock one...and I suggest stock because you don't know the quality of work to modifications and how the car has been driven given any mileage. You will be paying around 10k for one with 50k miles and about 11k for the same. Now I'm talking about leather inside with an m6. When I was looking for mine I was looking for an A4 because I did not know how to drive a stick at the time and every A4 I saw was either crazy modified, had high miles, or was just plain trashed. I saw a lot more M6s in better condition (seems people like taking care of m6 cars more--less people know them--and more people respect them) and that's what I eventually took.
