I hate imports, so I bought a base model Cavalier with 140hp and kept it 100% stock. Best of 36mpg, haven't spent a dollar on repairs in 7 years of ownership, just basic fluid/filter/brake pad maintenance.

stock fbody?? your utopian dream of a world filled with stock fbodies for the masses sounds great in theory... but few people can actually keep these things stock or resist the urge to do things like 5,000RPM clutch dumps on sticky tires. you would need something gutless to get away from all that. hell, most people with stock fbodies have modded fbodies (or better) to keep themselves sane.
personally, if i ever got rid of my fbody and stepped into a honda, it would be just be one element in the same nightmare where i'm getting it on with richard simmons.
i'm just trying to be open minded here and show some sympathy for a guy who may not see such things as a nightmare. be advised i'm not saying that hondas or richard simmons are gay (even if they were gay, there'd be nothing wrong with that).

There are still some stock ls1 powered F-bodies around for a decent price. Most are automatics, but stock none the less.
My Dad's 01 M6 is bone stock except for a set of HD bilsteins, but are replacement shocks really a mod. He drives it everyday to work and has done so since he bought it brand spanking new. No reliability problems for him.
Problem is most of these cars are on the second or third owner and each one has beaten the crap out of them. My current car had 4 previous owners. Each one just made things worse
The ad said 02 M6 SS, clean body, doesn't run. I was there with a trailer in 10 minutes. A week later it was running and driving

Sorry to see you sell your LS car, it sounds more like to me either your driving style is insane or you need to find a different transmission guy lol.
The type S will be fun until you get smoked by a stock LS1 car, LOL.

But ls1 cars don't have VTEC...
Seriously, if you like no torque before 5k rpms and a car that was designed for a female then the rsx is a great choice.
Those hondas are outrageous to mod and your new goal should be 200rwhp.

This is almost like "Saying Goodbye to the vagina world.... for now" "Gonna try dicks for a while, but eventually go back to vaginas" But slightly gayer.
Lol, JK, good luck with the new car, you'll get the itch again.

My '99 Z28 is very reliable, but I'm getting it ready to sell, so I'm trying to minimize the mileage I run up on it.

I don't doubt it. When I used to commute long distance with that car, I was getting 34-36mpg with 25% Chicago traffic driving. I never did 100% expressway, but if I had I would not be shocked to see 40mpg....maybe better under perfect conditions. And that 140hp Ecotec isn't so bad in a 2600lb car....certainly beats the hell out of a base model Civic.

Well I hate to see anybody sink to your new level of performance. Just curious, but what kinda posts do you and your new buddies discuss over on the CLUBRSX forums? Drifting 101 for losers? Oh well you might as well start saving your money up for one of them big *** mufflers with the neon lites on it.
