Default question in regards to head swap

I have an 01 LS1 and am going to install a set of LS6 heads on the engine. Is it required I switch to a different cam from stock LS1 or can I run that cam for now until I get some feel for the eninge in its new home?

You can use the same cam.

It's best to buy the two together though.

I would say do it all at once since the motor is already opened up.
