i just picked up a lq9 short block. stock bottom end. i also got a set of tea stage 3 5.3 heads. 63cc stock but these were milled .020. my question is, what will my compression ratio be and also what would you say the max lift cam i can use with out fly cutting the pistons?

it can go fast but you will need supporting mods like intake headers and I will throw in a aftermarket cam your C.R will be in the 11:6 depends on what head gasket you get!! Here is a link were you can calculate your CR

That is way high for an LQ9. there is no way the CR would be 11:6 by putting headers and a cam in it. LQ9 CR stock is in the 9:1 range.
