I consistently average 20 and that is with 100% city driving with distances of no more than 10 miles. That is awesome, especially for a 350+ horsepower v8. When I start going back to school the mileage will probably increase somewhere into the 23-25 range, and that is with the 373 gears.

? Noisy oil burner. Some are but not all. I have no piston slap, just the cam noise, and it doesn't use a drop of oil with almost 110,000 miles on it. Sure you get the sewing machine sound with an aluminum engine with headers is going to do that. No way around that.

Name a motor that is so easily available/cheap to obtain that you can slap on a pair of headers, throw a 150 shot on it make 460-500 whp and reliably drive it everyday.

i remember when ls1s first came out and numerous members on GM sites refused to accept how great this motor was because it made what they had outdated. instead of being excited that GM made a kickass motor theyd just badmouth it and post incorrect info.
as time passed alot of those people ended up buying LS powered vehicles.
its still a great motor even today.

I hear that, I get(well used to 3/od died lol) 27-28 mpg in an automatic. I have spent many hours explaining to people why the Gen III/IV motors are great, basically everything everyone has said.

I guess it depends on how often you turn on the jizz.
