Default What is that?!?

I was looking under my dash for an after market security system bc my factory one doesn't seem to work.
..And I found this
Its hard to tell but, there is a toggle switch sticking out of the plastic towards the center of the pic and those wires come out of the gauge cluster fuse location. I'm assuming they are related to the switch. Would it be a kill switch? I'm kinda afraid to mess with it.

What would be the benefit of killing the cluster power?

If you think thats bad, you should see under my dash. I have a red switch, two metal switches like that, multiple fuse blocks, splices, wires tapped to other wires, boxes with led lights, relays taped to other relays, and a whole mess of stereo wire. I don't dare touch any of it because my car might never run again. I counted no fewer than 4 separate alarm boxes under there. Oh, and 2 remote start receivers of different brands.

Probably was a shut-off for an alarm. If its not doing anything, don't worry about it to much. Did you flip it to see what happens? Ejection seat james bond style?

I found a funny little box with a switch attached to it under my dash... looks like it was part of an after-market alarm system or something. The previous owner didn't know what it was either so i just left it alone.

I found 2 random switches in mine and wiring for a 3rd. No clue what they are/were for besides some interior lights and such.

if it kills the cluster power, I bet the original owner did that to prevent miles from accumulating when driving on the highway

But if somebody was that stupid, they would remove it before selling the car.
