I am thinking of getting another f-body as a daily. I had a firehawk for a couple of years and didnt want to put miles on it so I bought a civic. It gets good gas mileage but I can't stand how much of a turd it is.

Ls1s are good dailys....reliable and fast.

I would be paying about 50 more bucks for gas each month thou...thats really the only thought holding me back.

LS1s are excellent dailys IF not modded to hell
And for me, the 50 bucks is more than worth it over a 4 banger. Im starting to find the only difference between an LS and a 4 banger in gas consumption is the added cost of premium over regular. the 6th gear on the highway makes it very economical

Im averaging about 18-20 miles per gallon, and that's a lot of city driving. Not to mention my car has almost 140K on it. God only knows when the last tune-up was done. My girlfriend has a focus that gets about 30 mpg, which is good and all, but man what a gay car! I spend a little over 100 bucks more a month in gas than her. Its worth it in my book.

Money well spent. Think of how much more driving pleasure you'd get for that $50. You said it yourself.

That would be a bit different if she had one of those Ford Focus AWD jobs from Europe. Those things are amazingly quick.

I would still take my Camaro over the Euro Focus because they aren't the same car, but the Focus is a very nice car if you're in the market for something like that.

I know right? Maybe I'm only half a man for saying so, but you gotta love what you drive, and furthermore I just don't want to be seen in anything else...

If by nice you mean amazingly gay, then you are correct sir. I hate that car. Its the egg shaped little ZX3.

sounds like a full man to me! My Camaro has just enough room for me, the ol lady, my little girls car seat, and pretty much nothing else. I nicknamed it "The Family Man's Corvette"

Yeah very true...I am also not making the mistake this time around and paying for the WS6/firehawk/SS premium.

I think if I found an M6 TA under 80k miles I would be set.

This is what I drive to work everyday

It's a 95 civic hatchback...no power stearing and leaks oil....but hey I get 40mpg..haha

whats that next to the Z06? Are those C6 Z06 wheels i see?

If I drove that civic, I would have limo tint all the around it and park it in my neighbors driveway

That's the firehawk I sold.

I didn't want to daily the firehawk, it was an A4, had about 40k miles on it with some bolt ons. I guess I could have daily drove the hawk but I thought getting good money out of it while I could (I sold it for 14K) then buying a cheaper ls1 to daily and getting rid of the civic would be a good idea.

Yes the civic is a pos...my gf absolutly hates it and honestly it's pretty embarasing to drive.

Always been a big fan of the Hawk. Good luck with picking up one. I bought mine for 6600 in June, so you should be able to find one.

I drive 35 miles, 33 highway, to work each way. The difference between my 28mpg Z28 and a 35mpg **** box is ~38/month.

Yeah, **** that. It was a fairly easy decision.

Plus, I can take it to the track and drive it when it's a bad day for the bike (damp track, cold track, I'm sore, etc).

They aren't hard, just time consuming. I did it in about an hour and a half for the first try on my 2k z28. It was my first time changing spark plugs *ever*, as well. The back plug on the passenger side took 20% of the total time and had to be done from the bottom using feel only.

Also, this is not a gay car.

I would happily have that parked next to the Z. At the very least it isn't an Evo or a Subi STI.

I bought my 02 z28 in 2008 with 54K. Havent had a problem with it except the blown ignition relay @ 55K easy fix. When I got it it was bone stock, still had the paper filter! haha. It now has 65K on it and still no problems and its had quite a bit of work done to it, stall, headers etc... and, sees alot of track time! It hasnt been DD much. I got another car now, so it just sits in the garage. All in all, im VERY happy with it. The cars my baby, I do all my own work to it and my son will probly have it when hes older. Hes 1 now so it wont be for a while! HAHA

Do you know of a how to anywhere showing how to do the spark plug job?

It's still a hatchback and is still small. I'll stick to my Chevy's and Fords. If its smaller than midsize, its not for me

I can't really find a guide that I would be comfortable linking someone to, but this thread has some useful information in it. You will need a swivel ratchet, some extensions, a spark plug socket, a TON of patience, car jack, jack stands, two bricks to put behind the back wheels while it's up (make sure your e-brake is on and the tranny is in park too once it's up!), and make sure the engine is cool to the touch.
