Default Need motor advice for 6.0

I have a lq9 i bought a 224r cam package from tsp and I also bought a set of ls6 heads. Doing some research I found this http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ads/index.html now I'm not sure what to do. If it was you what would you do? This will be just a street car and not a daily driver.

Run the heads. They came stock on the LS2's. Basically running a set of stock heads that just happen to be at the top of the "pecking order" for the LS1's and LS2's.

hey there, swapping to ls6 heads on a lq9 will be fine while using the same head gasket. each head has the same deck thickness, i guess is how you would say it, as any other head as long as it hasnt been resurfaced. the difference between the lq4 and lq9 are the pistons. the lq4 has dished pistons and the lq9 has flat top pistons for higher compression ratio. higher compression ratio= more hp, so intern uping the compression ratio of 10:1 to 10.8 or 10.9:1 = more hp. kind of like having a stroker motor but not. and you can always get a thicker head gasket to make it more street friendly say 10.6 or 10.7:1. as that article stated 243 and 317 heads flow exactly the same so you wouldnt be gaining anything as far as flow goes, just more compression.
