I got around pretty well in the snow with the BFG KDWS, no complaints. I've never had actual snow tires though so i have nothing to compare them too. I'd hate to have to buy a whole set of wheels and tires to just use a few days a year. They would dry rot before the tread wore out, not to mention the space they would take up in the garage all year.
I don't just put the snow tires on for a few days though, I leave them on from December till some point in March usually. We normally get several significant storms here in Chicago each winter, so there is really no reason to remove them till spring. I've got plenty of room in my basement so storage isn't a problem.
Striker's car looks great. And the painted axle is a nice touch.

The factory axle assembly was bare metal for all these cars, so even really nice, low mile, rain/snow-free cars will develop some amount of surface rust from humidity/washings/etc. (unless someone paints it, like yours).
Everything else under there looks stock to me though, including the tread pattern on the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS tires.

Striker, how do you keep that undercarriage that clean, with your tongue? I bet the women love you ![The Jester](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_jest.gif)
CT resident here with 23 freak inches of densely wet packed snow in East Haven. Below is my '96 3.8L V6 daily driver before I left for work. As you can see these F-bodies are so aerodynamic the snow blew over to the drivers side and I barely got in. Thankfully, my 2002 SS sits in the garage til April![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)

Depressed is an understatement. It's good though, for me at least, because it gives me time to find what I really want to buy for my next car, and not just get anything because it's nice out and i'm getting anxious.

I'm getting ticked off that it's too cold to even work on the car. Here's the pile of stuff I've picked up and is sitting in the basement.

Getting a set of Hawk pads to add to the pile and I still need to get the intermediate pipe for the exhaust. At least it's given me time to reconsider painting the mirrors body color.
