Just wondering why no one here does something smart like get ahead on your mortgage?

Eh, we're not the group of folks who have the tendency to do the "right" things. I'm trying to get out of debt and am almost there-can't speak for the other guys...

Some of us make smart financial decisions year round, not just when we get our tax refund. Therefore, we don't feel as guilty about spending a small chunk of change on ourselves once a year

If you e-filed, it should be about 8-10 days for Federal. States vary, so I won't guess. Back when I worked for an accounting firm, the schedule use to be if you filed by noon on Thursday, you'd have your direct deposit refund the following Friday (8 days later). Otherwise, you were in for the next Friday. That seems to be accurate still, if not quicker.

Based on the day you said you filed, I'm betting on February 4th for your Federal refund.
