PARTS UPDATE
Finally received my Motive 3.73s and my TA Performance Rear girdle. I also got in on a set of the new UMI solid aluminum motor mounts while they were still offering the introductory pricing. You will also notice that I got a pair of Stock wheels that will act as my Track set. They have some 555r's on them but I am not sure of the condition of the tires since I am still in Iraq and have not seen them in person yet. Will more than likely replace them with the M/T ET street radials...for track use only
Stay tuned for more as I will be home next month and the fun will commence

If you don't mind me asking, how much in parts have you invested? What kind of power are you hoping/expecting to make? I've been looking at doing a similar build on my car.
Thing is gonna fly imo

Let's see...I would say I probably have somewhere around $4500 +/- into it so far. As for the transmission, I hopefully won't be driving it daily too much and if I am the only time I would be getting on it is at the track, and that would only be once every couple of months. I see the concern though and if/when it breaks, I would like to swap a TH400 into it but we will see. I might just have to go with a built 4L60E. But not anytime soon. I'm not too sure what to expect power wise. I am honestly more interested in track times, but if I had to put a number I would say somewhere around 410 to the wheels if that. A4s suck on the dyno but really shine at the track so I am hoping for low 11s. Somebody told me if I had a decent tire I could see high 10s but I will be happy with 11s and shoot for 10s later with Nitrous.

So I have been back stateside for about 3 weeks now. In those 3 weeks we have completely finished the build motorwise, put in the stall, and even had Dan at MASPORT tune it. I'm not going to post dyno numbers because people get too caught up in them. Dynos are a tuning tool. I will be going to the track either tonight or friday and I will be able to post some times.

236/240 is plenty big for a street car. Any bigger and I would have to flycut. Im happy with the numbers. Just need a new transmission
