How do I get this sensor out??
im trying to remover the cranckshaft position sensor of my LM7 engine, and its stuck.( click attachment)
After unbolting it, i sprayed the top with pen/oil and it moves freely.
I tries a flat blade screwdriver. It wont move.
Has anyone gotten one of these out.
Man theres no room, it right at the back.

Thats looks like your valley cover up top and your Oil pressure sensor to the left. I want to say that is not your Crankshaft Sensor... I believe your crank sensor is located on the lower side of the block near the reluctor wheel.

thanks for the image man.
after looking at the design of the sensor I think the following:
- there is a week point at the thin neck at the top of the sensor. Being plastic an in the truck for 10+ years it would have become a bit brittle, so could break here.
- the only force to pull it out from the top has to come from the connection or the bolt tab. this would mean the force has a tilt to it and not directly verticle, which would incread the chances of breaking at the week point.
- the o ring and the cavity before the o ring would be blocked up with grease etc, casuing it to jam up.
- one would have to either push it up from the underside (undesirable), or drill 4 small holes at the top into the top and screw in a washer with a ring welded to it so that it could be pulled up directly verticle.
