These engineers spend years analyzing things before they come to a conclusion on x, y, z for cars. I find it hard to believe theres something wrong with dexcool. Not saying theres no way they can **** up but all that money goes into test after test I just cant see them ******* that up. I think someone either mixed the green and dex, or didnt follow maintenance correctly and tried to blame someone else. But hey, who really knows?! If it was that bad dont you think we would be hearing about it more often? I mean seriously, how many threads on this board do you see saying "look at what dexcool did to my cooling system!" I havent seen 1 but I have seen MANY guys say the same thing as me. Hey maybe im wrong but evidence says otherwise. Can you prove it?!

I think GM was wrong to recommend 5 year/150k mile lifespan for Dexcool, people that leave it in this long sometimes get the dex-sludge.
I've gone 4 years without issues before, but I generally feel better about changing it every 3 years.
