Default My newest LSX powered vehicle

After owning 6 f-bodies.. I figured it was time for something new. I almost pulled the trigger on a few 03/04 Cobra's.. But my biggest concern was not having a local reputable shop to go to for mods/tuning/repairs etc. So, with New Era Performance right around the corner and having an outstanding relationship with them, I decided to stick with a GM vehicle.

I bought a 2002 Z06 today with 46K miles. Its VERY clean and stock. I fell in love with the thing. I take delivery of it in 2 weeks.

My plans are to keep it stock this year, then do a nice cam/bolt-on setup over the winter.

Congrats on your new C5Z! I think you made a good choice getting
that over a Cobra. I love my C5Z it's a great car.

Mine is also stock. I changed my spark plugs, plug wires and fluids.
Eventually I will install the new Katech C5 LS9 clutch and than maybe go for heads/cam.

Looking good man, I like it a lot. Nice color choice too, Black is my favorite.

Also, just a quick question, my Dad has an '07 C6 Z51 and I've always wondered, how do the 05-07 Corvette's compare in pricing to the 02-04 Z06's? I know their overall performance characteristics are similar, but what about pricing? I understand the 02-04 Z06's are significantly older, but man, they hold their value for what they are!

I was looking at C6's also. They are a little bit more though. Mid-low 30's for clean ones.

If I still lived in San Diego I would have prob kept my 00 Z28 to DD. But since I moved back to NY, I need a 4wd truck for the winter.

definitely would be my choice as well but im in SoCal for life LOL, good luck and sharp car. Bone stock mine dynoed at 360/357 btw. Not bad for a stone stock ls6. For 18K even out the door in bmw dealership with no down payment, i just couldnt pass on the deal. How much did you get yours for if you dont mind me asking?

Im actually thinking about a black C6Z in a few years once i get settled in USMC and find a better job in a civilian world.

i bought mine from a dealership. I had them include new Pirelli tires in the deal also. You pretty much stole that.

I got mine for $25K. Its got 46K miles. Its kinda high, but it was clean and it was exactly what I wanted.

I just moved back from San Diego this past weekend. I worked right next to the Miramar base.

I also found it pretty funny that its cheaper for me to insure my Z06 than it was to insure my 02 SS. LOL!

They do hold their value. Take a look for yourself. You can either get a C6 or a C5 Z06. The choice is yours. My dad is looking for a loaded 2006-07 C6 and for the money he can get another c5 Z06, but I bought his, which is why he's not doing that; he wants a change of pace (although he's consider z16...but let's not get into that).

The C6 WILL come down though, they are just up right now because of the season and they are so new.

Although, that being said, C5's are still up there as well. Some of them, especially 03/04 are money. Some are up there with the price of a Z almost (and I must say some sellers out there are on crack, same with the C6s).

You would think FRC's and 01z's are cheaper than 02+ Z06's. Not so.

Although performance may be similar, driving the two is completely different. A lot of C6 people have sold their cars to get into (or back into) C5 Z06's.

Congrats to the OP.

It's because the Camaro/TA is a "kid's" car and they get wrecked more. Corvette is an old man's car. This is what my ins told me!
