Programming The Right Key Fob I bought my car with only one fob, the four button 16245100-29,
So a little while ago I bought another used one off of ebay, but they sent me a 16207901-5. It looks the same, 4 buttons and all, but refuses to program to the car. I'm using the instructions from installuniversity.com, and my original fob reprograms every time, but the new(used) one will not. Tried replacing the battery but still won't work.
Some places say that both numbers will work with my car, so what do you think the problem is? Will both part numbers work? is the fob defective?

Interesting. I have a FOB from my previous Camaro that I haven't bothered to program over to my Firebird. I don't know if they're the same # or not, but if they're different I'll have to try it out and see if that actually matters.
