I saw a kinda cool demonstration today from the guy that sold my friend his new 2011 camaro ss. My question pretty much is is it worth it to have a magnet on your oil filter and tranny pan to suck up all the access metal ? Some magnets are up to 80 dollars lol But it was cool on how he showed us in a bottle of oil and clamped the magnet to it, how it kinda sucked the access metal shaving to the magnet. He explained how much it helped keep the oil clean and ect ect. I personally use royal purple 5w30 in both my 01 camaro ss and 95 impala ss, and change my oil every 3500 miles or so. Would this be helpful in getting and who has tried these magnets. I guess every litte bit counts. I just wanna know before i spend 50 dollars or so on a magnet lol

I use and most peoples use hard drive magnet, find a old hard drive and break it, inside you find 2 magnets, stick those on side of oil filter. Or any magnets will work find. Im not recomment do it to the tranny oil pan, just oil filter.
