Yea the lq9 is around 9.5.1 compression I may be wrong. Are would I be better to put heads intake and injectors on the ls? I got mid-length header are do I need long tubes

Take your lq4, put some ls6 (243 casting) heads not it. The 243 heads have a 64 cc chamber which will give you around 10.5 to 1 compression. Then ls6 intake and cam and say hello to 425 wheel.

Have you priced pistons, rings, machining etc? Rebuilding a lsx isn't really cheap IMO.
I would do a mid size cam, some ported 243/799 (or aftermarket heads), long tubes, ls6 intake on the ls1. Save weight and make the power you want. You would still have to do heads/cam/intake on the lq4 to get to your hp goals.
The iron block is stronger but at power levels of a NA build that doesn't matter. You keep about 80#s off the nose of the car by staying aluminum block and you don't have to tear the engine all the way down, pay machining costs, etc.
ls1> lq4 (unless you a buying pullout engines and building them from scratch)

All I'm looking for is around 425hp 450hp on motor and put about 150 shot on it. I had a 2000 Camaro with a T-Rex cam long tube headers build transmission with a PTC 3500 stall with 4.10 gears stock ls1 intake and heads and it put down 350hp to the tires. So if I do the h/c/I/e on my t/a it should put me were I want to be. I was thinking of going with the raptor cam this time ls6 stage 2.5 heads if I can do that without flycutting my pistons what you guys think?

That combo should have made an EASY 420rwhp and possibly 450+.

His 2000 camaro had a huge cam in it with stock 241's and a LS1 intake...limiting factors in that setup. That same motor with better heads and intake is about 425HP at the tires through that stalled auto. That's just my thoughts.
