Sounds like your goin to keep the SS but one thing to consider is what will make you happy? Its stupid to try and have the fastest car in the world because more then likely there will always be somewhere faster somewhere. Whenever I get a new car and start modifying it I think about what goals I want with the car and go from there, I could care less if the guy next door has a faster car.

Honestly it's not about being the fastest in town. I just truly love the feel of real muscle under the hood. When I fire up my SS, it's loud and muscular....WHOOMMMMBBBBMMMMBBBMMBB......I just love it......I don't get that with the newer models, I know I could but i'm not ready to put another 10-15 grand in another car.....I'll just keep and love mine....

Meh. None of the new "retro" ponycars do anything for me. Too ugly, too heavy and too expensive. I had the real-deal Challenger (1970 R/T clone: 458ci Wedge, 727, Dana 60 etc) and the new ones are too tall and chunky...look like a bar of soap.

$45K will buy you a lot better options IMO...C6Z, Gen II or early Gen III Viper, restomod muscle/ponycar, C5Z + 700rwhp drivetrain, C5Z + 1998 up Trans Am, etc...

I've been down your road man and I've come to the same conclusion. To me it was the revelation that when I purchase that new Camaro SS or that new Dodge Challenger, I'm not buying some awesome new piece of technological achievement. Think about it, upgrading from an old TPI setup to the LTX setup in the early 90's was a rather big step. I could see parting with some extra cash to do it. Upgrading to the LSX platform from the LTX in the late 90's was a HUGE step and well worth the investment. But to upgrade to another LSX based platform when you're just going to turn around and cam it, put heads on it, etc. Why not just keep your original LSX car and do the same thing to it. The older Camaro is lighter, cheaper to maintain, cheaper to insure, and just as much fun to drive with comparative mods.

Here's a quick way. Figure out what the payments will be and get some insurance quotes! I'd be willing to bet you'll have a change of heart. New vehicle payments get old real quick.

2011 'Stang is around 3500 lbs, 400 horse, for high 20's/low 30s. There is a solution to every problem...

Sounds like you`ve pretty much got some sense talked in to you by now lol Personally, i just love the look of my car. Yea i wish i had a four door, or a truck, or an SUV....but at the end of the day, i smash the pedal on my car, front end raises up a little bit and the rear end dips down, the exhaust bellowing out the back of the car like its mad at the world.....nothing sounds better then that i think. So i say keep it...you will regret it later on when your paying for that brand new challenger...or whatever your paying too much for lol

Keep it. I can hang with you guys (almost) with my torque-steer GXP. I thought my GXP was fast until I raced an F-body. I really envy rear wheel drive launches.

the manuals weigh ~3800 and the autos weigh ~4000. the fact that you can't do simple subtraction, i'll be presumptuous and guess that you're in 1st grade? sounds to me like you're an ignorant ford nut hugger . i know perfectly well what they're capable of from the factory, high 12's at best. you're telling me tires and a tune will shave a full second off their quarter mile time? LOL, are YOU really that dumb? i'm not going to get "clowned" (no-homo) by a stock 5.0. i was running high 12's in my old stock internals A4 before i even put the stall in. i suggest you do some research before you try and flame me you complacent ****.

what do you have done to your A4? maybe you need to worry about getting "clowned" you cognitive simpleton

Not sure where that info comes from. Every source I've checked shows the curb weight being 3600-3700lbs.

This is over the line. It's one thing to disagree, but it is totally unacceptable to be this disrespectful to a staff member.

This will be your only warning, further behavior like this will result in a vacation.
