Need for speed? Ok come October I will finally be pulling the trigger on buying a Vette.
This is like comparing apples to oranges but doesn't a C6 without the roof feel as fast as a Z06? I also found a great deal on a C5 Z as well.
I have the ability to buy any of them, so comments suggestions would be helpful. The C6 is basically the same price as the C5Z. The Z06 is double, and may just put a STS turbo on if I go for the lower model.
I have ridden in a miata, stock and turbo and without a roof you feel like your going a lot faster than you are.
When it comes down to it I'll have to narrow it down to 2-3 and drive them.
All thoughts comments and experience would be appreciated.
This will be my daily driver btw. Few more months down the road I'll probably pick up a 4 door car too.

When I was vette shopping, it came down to a base model C6 (LS3) and a C5 Z06. I just liked the looks of the C5 Z's more... And they were a little cheaper. Yeah, a LS3 C6 is a faster car, but theyre "dime-a-dozen".
Test drive all 3 cars. I regret not going with the C6 Z. Its one hell of a car. A stock C6 Z would still beat the car in my sig even with all the mods on it, and with everything I got into it... I could have just bought one.
My vote is a C5/C6 Z06.

top up feels like im in a little box.. down, i feel like going faster.
i have no idea about how it would feel in a vette, but at the same speed i don't feel like i'm going faster with the top down (compared to vert with top up or non convertible fbody).
i wouldn't hesitate to go for the C6
