Default LS2 402 Cam Selection...Sponsers Please Chime in...

Ok...

Heres the deal...

Im searching for a Large streetable cam that would have good driveability & good street manners for my LS 402. My engine will have Patriot stage 3 227 cc heads with Large valve 4" bore combustion chambers.

Trying to make 450 - 500 H.P. at the Rear wheels if possible.

Please supply me with Lift, Duration at .050" lift, & LSA & Camshaft brand.

Any help would be appreciated.

well your better off contacting a sponsor and getting a custom cam spec'd specifically for you. especially, going off your sig with the 9" gearing, stall, and nitrous. just call some of them.

Agreed...custom is the way to go. I would look for something in the range of high 230s duration, about .600 lift on a 112.

Thanks for the cam Advice ... I found a Comp Cams 238/240 XFI XER Race Cam at Jegs.
Should work good with my 404 c.i.

Yeah good but not great. I would call Geoff at EPS (sponsor >>>>) Either way I would call someone before going with a cam out of a catolog.

Get a CamMotion, EPS, TR or Ed Curtis cam spec'd for your car. Comp XFI lobes are a thing of the past for SBC's and LS1's. There are much better lobes available now-a-days for your car

Thunder Racing also has some excellent cams for your build. I am doing a 402 as well and I am going with TR'
sTRoker V.3-247/251-.624/.632-112 lsa

I'm going for a bit more aggressive build but they have tons of options and I've had awesome results from their cams in the past.
The biggest issue with the diveability will be the tune and I would go with Mike at TR or Geoff at EPS for the tune. But like the others have said.... you need to call a shop and tell them your specifics and they will match a good cam or grind one for what you are looking for.
