So, i've been throwing some ideas around and need some opinions.
1) buy an SOM car and build motor
2) paint my white z SOM and build motor
3) screw SOM, screw White and buy a black ss
4) paint my white z black

Here is my opinion:

I'm not a huge fan of SOM. It's an alright color, but certainly not my first choice. Black is a great color, but it's just so hard to keep it nice. I like it, but I wouldn't purposely seek it out simply because of the care aspect. I like white better than either of these colors. I would pick a white Camaro over SOM or Black. So if it was me, I'd leave your car the color that it is.

None of this should really matter to you though, because it is YOU and not I that has to live with your car. I will say this: a complete and proper color change is going to be costly, so unless you have a ton of money/modifications tied up in your current car, for the current market value of an LS1 Camaro you'd be better off just selling your car and getting a different color.

anybody know how hard it is to cut white down and get it to be a true white? The car was not taken care of before i got it.

hmm do you have to paint? white can be nice too! if your going thru the trouble of painting you might as well get some bad *** color! like green or blue or wtever seems badass to you. also, what about building your engine? seems like not very important on number 4? if its fine just get the typical bolt ons and may be a cam..your VERY confused

EDIT: i have black Z28 and i gotta tell you its a pita to keep clean! i regret buying black to be honest. am thinking about going satin or flat black since its cheap to do where i live. good luck

Keep it white and make the paint shine. White looks killer, especially with some chrome/polished wheels and a nice stance.
