I hauled and installed a $2500 frameless heavy glass shower door a few months ago when my work truck was down. I layed the rear seat down and slid the pieces through the hatch resting them on towels against the back of the center console, wall to wall clearance was almost perfect so it didnt move once in there. I sat my chop saw in the front seat and the rest of my tools in the floor. It worked great and saved me some money but I wouldnt do it again, riding with 200 pounds of glass behind you is kind of scary

this thread reminded me of a vid of a camaro towing a portable BBQ pit beating a cobra stang from a dig so I had to go find the vid

Hmmm.....
Running sound for a small local show, when my truck was down....
2 Yamaha 12 inch PA cabinets, 6 mic stands, 4 duffel bags of cables/mics, a 12u rackmount/mixer case, acoustic guitar in case and my friend in the passenger side.
Going to practice once...
4x12 speaker cabinet (slantface), 100 watt head, guitar in case. Guitar is larger than usual, larger case than most basses actually. Oh, also had a friend in the passenger side.
Going on a trip to maine....
Ah...I can't list all the stuff, but suffice it to say she was packed floor to ceiling such that I couldn't see a damned thing out my rearview, with myself and a friend up front. I'm talking cooler, 5 bags of clothes/etc, stereo, projector, inflatable raft, probably 4-30 racks.....etc.
450 miles like that. Can't wait to do it again next year!

I don't know, I'd challenge that against my 36" CRT. LCD's are nice and flat (even in the box), my CRT was HUGE!!!! I had to lay the back seats down, rest the TV on the screen against the rear deck and put a towel over the top to keep it from rubbing the hatch glass. It was quite the adventure.

I hauled 4 speedlines wheels and 4 Nitto tires about 35 miles on country roads. I also filled the cargo area with a bunch of camping gear when I went to Yosemite. I have also hauled some cases of melon, tomatoes, and other produce that I delivered to family in southern California.

I got one... bout four years ago... the crazy nights of high school life.
6 friends (plus me driving), to see if we could, we had to go 2 miles down the road. 2 were in the passenger seat, 3 in the back seat and 1 curled up in the trunk/hatch. The car was practically bottomed out on the suspension (I know, poor camaro!), and I crept along hoping I didn't get pulled or hit lol.
Anyone managed 7 not including driver? I can almost see it if you had small people and 4 in the back seat...

And the wammy (Post 2 of 2)
Moving out of my college dorm apartment a few years back.
This one was actually fun doing. I was back in college at the time, and didn't feel like bringing down one of the SUVs before the move back home.
I used nearly every inch of the car, behind the seats, in the passenger footwell, all of the hatch, every random nook & cranny I could find.
-a suitcase of clothes
-two weeks worth of laundry
-2 suits
-dress shoes, basketball shoes
-mattress foam pad, bed sheets, comforter, 2 pillows
-folding circle chair
-10'x10' carpet
-laptop & case
-printer
-6 semesters worth of text books & novels
-small filing cabinet
-24" LCD tv
-PS2, N64, respective controllers & games
-4-piece home stereo system & sub
-Groceries out of the fridge
-Kitchen pots, pans, skillets, plates, silverware, tupperware, etc
-plastic storage bin full of miscellaneous objects from around the apartment
-"Iron Gym" pull-up bar
-Oh, and a gold fish.
Do I win?

with the top down in my v6 convertible.... a sofa bed.
i had it wrapped, strategically strapped down and used the passenger seat to help anchor it in place, but it looked ridiculous. it was towering above the car. jaws dropped, laughter erupted, people were breaking out their camera phones. when the guy in the beat up pontiac grand am equipped with aftermarket 13" rims, pep boys fake heat extractors and "chrome" accents starts laughing at you at a stop light, you know you've accomplished something special.
