I am working on a 2002 LS1 with aftermarket heads, cam, and headers. I removed the EGR tubes today and was suprised to find small globes or ***** of orange fluid inside the portion of the tube that is welded to the header. I checked the radiator - it is low on fluid and filled with orange coolant. The orange ***** in the EGR tube are of slightly thicker consistency than coolant, but match the color of the dex in the radiator exactly.
This was only on the drivers side. The passenger side was normal looking to me (black inside, slight coating of soot).
I pulled the spark plugs. I thought for sure I was going to find one that showed signs coolant in the cylinder, but they all look pretty normal to me.
I am planning a coolant system pressure test tomorrow.
Any other suggestions?
