i think i have a speed record on a gravel road. took my 2007 kawasaki ninja zx6r a solid 167 mph, pinned the throttle and got to 174 mph spinning as shown on spedometer on gravel, young and dumb but very very true story. took it to 178 mph on pavement shown on the spedo too. 164 mph in my 2004 cobb stage 1 subaru sti shown on the accessport screen (on bridgestone blizzak snow tires in the winter so i let out cuz they werent rated for those speeds but it was still pullin decently) 160 plus (spedo only shows to 160) on my 2007 gmpp stage 2 plus intake and exhaust pontiac solstice gxp. it was still climbin but very very slowly and i was runnin out of road very quickly... im in the process of building a budget (lol whats that) h/c plus other random parts lq4 with about 125 hp nitrous hit (if 1/8th mile track can hold it) and a th400 behind it, droppin it in a 1988 gmc s15 pickup. id be very scared to take it above 130 mph since its a tin box made in 1988 tho lol. and to think i had my first stroke and was admitted to the hospital monday afternoon and im only 25... i wonder what caused that. ive slowed down since those days due to my girlfriend (of 3 years) and her wonderful 4 year old daughter (who finally calls me dad) changin my life and my great job ive been working to get to for 6 years now.

In my 1998 camaro i got clocked at 177mph on the city bypass all they knew was it was a red car they couldn't tell what make lol

In my G8 GT 164mph

On my suzuki GSX-R 1000 the speedo stops counting at 187 i hit this in 5th gear at 11,000ish rpms i pulled it on to 12,250ish and shifted in to 6th and pulled another 1,500 rpms in that gear and it was crazy fast so i slowed it back up to 187 for a while.

And last but not least my Dads HD custom motorcycle it was a 93 softtail springer raked out and we put a 111ci S&S super sidewinderstroker race motor on it and i had a friend on a 600 cbr follow me since my speedo on the HD only went to 100mph he said he was doing 164mh when i walked off and left him so no real number on that beast but it did go 9.9s @ 129 mph in the quarter lol

oh and My buddys 2008 Z06 i went over 100mph but i also never got out of 3rd lol that thing was a beast i really wanted to test it out but i didn't own it so i wouldn't do it

I've done 150+ when my Z was automatic in the states but I plan to peg that needle til the my shift light tells me to either back off or go to 6th gear in autobahn.

165 in my LS1 nissan base on the gps hud spedo display 4.08 gear, let off because I could almost see underneath my carbon fiber hood, and it felt like I could turn the steering wheel and still go straight, so now I have some hood pins and a front splitter, and lowered the car.

All according to speedo so allow for some error.

1987 Porsche 944 Turbo-165-it was chipped and had unbelievable top end for a four cylinder car

1982 Porsche 911SC w/ breathed on '89 Turbo motor-150+-track car but streetable-spent all winter getting it ready-been telling my then new boss about it-drove it to work-he wanted a ride-drove up the highway a bit at slow speeds to warm it up-turned right on another highway and banged on the gears-in a short bit I hear my boss say, "Shiiitt, does that say 150???"-"Sure does and didn't take long to get there either, did it?"-was in sales then-took this same car on a road trip to visit my biggest account-wanted a ride-120 in rain-told client I would slow down if he gave me orders for business-worked!!-had my best friend (who also tracked his car) with me as a passenger at Road Atlanta before they did away with the "Dip"-on about third lap as we are approaching the dip, I ask how he liked the ride-said he didn't-wanted out-told me later entering the dip at 150 was scary but what really got him was when I shifted to fourth as I entered the esses when he thought I would brake-my favorite track!!-me about 14 years ago

1995 Porsche 993 coupe-170-passed by my friend in his 993 twin turbo-my wife is reading a book in the car-a bunch of us in the Porsche club were caravanning to a restaurant and got crazy on the way-sitting at the table telling war stories-guy in 944 S2 says his girlfriend told him he needed to speed up so as to not lose the group because they did not know where the restaurant was-said he was topped out at 150 and could not go any faster-we all drove very sedately on the way home-we were very lucky!!-my friend's twin turbo after he crashed it at Road America-spent the night in a hospital but only had bruises-tough car as he hit at very high speed-hit a concrete barrier backwards hard enough to push it back about an inch-the next barrier then became a can opener to the side of his car-the driver's door and hood opened normally

1999 C5 Corvette-170

2002 Z06 w/Magnacharger-175-had one of my best friends with me-he kept saying "God @#$% this thing is fast!!" while grinning like a hyena-he drove it back and pretty much repeated everything again

Those days are in the past now. Too many cops where I live now and not enough straightaway's. Maybe I am smarter now. Maybe not!

^ Holy crap, nerves of steel! People used to think I was nuts doing the "hell ride" thing! I've done 150mph ('02 SS) with the roofs off, no problem at all. My hair wfelt like it was being pulled out of my scalp and the wind noise was incredible. The car had so much more in it, I backed out to take the next exit - warped the front rotors. Since then, there are these street racing laws enacted if you do more than 50 kph over the posted limit. This results in immediate roadside vehicle seizure, license suspension for 10 days, up to $10k fine, storage fees for the car and the police notify your insurance! Needless to say, this has curbed my need for speed somewhat, AND I am a bit older - not nearly the nerve any longer! I do still "play" however...
