Haters of Hugger Orange...

they are just jealous of your good fortune. people like that use comments like that to make up for their own stupidity. they are probably the ones that are proud of their toyota too. IMPORTS SUCK!!! OUR JOBS AWAY!!

Compliments here too. Then again I call mine different nicknames depending what mood Im in...pumpkin, crush, orange peel, julius, etc. Beat them to the nicknames and all the haters have left to say is "nice car"

Not a "hater" but orange, yellow, burgundy metallics, and silver (pewter is fine, just don't enjoy plain silver) are the colors for a car/truck I could never stand to own.
I've seen some hugger cars that were really nice even, but my experience is the opposite of yours in that people freak out over a hugger car like it's the greatest thing ever. I'm just indifferent to it.
Same thing for competition orange cobras, those seem to draw out the fanatic too.

I agree about yellow though, I almost always hate it on just about every car, with very few exceptions.

Lately, i've been getting a lot of smart remarks about my Hugger Orange SS. About it looking like a pumpkin, etc. Seems a lot of people dont seem to like it. Maybe its because they might not be big into cars and not know the "classicness" of it from the 60's...or am I just one of the few people that actually like the color....
If it bothers you, I'd be happy to trade you for a 2000 Pewter SS! I know... but worth a shot.
The 99 Hugger Orange SS is probably my favorite and (IMO) the best looking car ever. If they weren't hard to find with low-ish miles, not modded to hell and/or not a bone stock time capsule selling for $30K, there would be one in my garage. I absolutely love that particular color on that particular car.

I resent that....

Black looks great on old cars with a lot of chrome and bright trim, but it doesn't do much for me on modern cars with black trim (just too much black I guess). Even worse are black cars where everything is totally blacked out....not my style at all.

Blacked out cars aren't really my style at all either, looks alright sometimes but most times I can't stand it, just looks kind of trashy to me a lot of times. But then, I'm not a flashy type of guy either, so I'm really not a fan of the way a lot of older cars look with all their chrome bumpers and trim pieces. So, I have to say, a nice black or other dark'ish colored SS or Z28 fits my tastes quite well

Cars with mods like yours pull off silver very well. Honestly I thought your car was pewter from memory.
On most cars (especially stock or close to stock) silver just hides all the body lines and lets the car fall in with all the Mercedes, BMW, Civics, Accords, and Windstar vans in a sea of boring. I could have got a sick deal on a C5 m6 car for $10k (list price, I bet I could have got it for less) with 75k miles...but it was silver...I couldn't do it.
I like pewter and white, but silver in most cases falls flat for me. Takes all kinds though and everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Mine has 42k and is spotless as well. People always ask me if it's for sale, especially customers and my friends performance shop.

And for the OP I don't know that I've ever heard someone trashing on HO before, so could just be jealous people or totally non-car people. Or they just really don't like orange.
