Default Is it possible to bring TA back to US?

Last summer, my dad decided to permanently move to Mexico. He took with him his '98 TA. He's gone through all the necessary steps to nationalize the car. He's always worried that the car will get stolen or vandalized and he's now considering selling it. Since the car was originally from the U.S., does anyone know how hard would it be to get it reregistered here in Idaho?

Thanks for the help.

I would call your state DMV and see what the requirements and documents you need to reregister it in the U.S.

get the car back home FIRST!!!!! don't try anything with the car still in mexico!! drive it across the border as if your dad was going to visit the U.S. then you can start to make your paper trail, remember: possesion is 9/10's of the law. good luck ,and get it on american soil first..

^ agree with this. Kind of like buying a car out of state and bringing it back to get everything registered, inspected, ect

I would assume as long as nothing has been altered with any of the safety or emission controls you shouldn't have a problem. The main reason why people have issues registering cars that were originally sold overseas or in other countries is because the safety standards are usually much higher in the U.S.
