spun a rod 427 BBC redo it or go LSx 6.0?
friends 427 BB spun a rod.. now the dilemma to rebuild it or convert now to LS..
the BB is tired- iron heads- cranks NG- needs rods- pistons are getting loose in bore so needs a bore _ pistons.. other than a block theres nothing to start with.
local shops quoting 7k to build a 496 out of his block..
new Edelbrock heads- retrofit hydraulic roller- roller rockers-
new rods and pistons- crank etc- new intake - air gap- est 550 HP/torq range.
new oilpump - pan etc-
needs headers anyway as are rusty..
now for the money should he consider putting in a 6.0 and could go carb dont have to change to efi ..
cars only got a turbo 400 trans-- not looking to change that right now..
i know the 6.0 with AI heads and cam should do close to same HP numbers--
pros and cons?

personally if it were me i would do the 6.0(lq9 if possible) and a 228 or so cam. put longtubes on it and put use MS efi on it. bolt the th400 right up to it and have a stoudt drivable setup for ALOT less than rebuilding the BBC
