Ford guy just bought a LS...im lost!
i have a mustang that im building right now, but i figured id buy an 02 camaro for the time being and mod it alittle so i had something fun to drive. I was wondering what you guys do for small mods? I don't want it to turn into a car that breaks **** all the time or i have to worry about things. Its an 02 auto car with 2.73 gears and some l/ts and corsa exhaust now. It also has a SLP lid. Im thinking about the following:
-yank ss3600
-3.42 gears/rearend girdle
-and a 150shot from a new nx kit i picked up
what should that net in a 1/4mile with these cars?

Go higher than 3.42 gears. Something like a 3.73 or 4.10 would be best. If you are doing the stall, go ahead and do a mid sized cam too. With all those mods you'd easily be low 12s/high 11s. Possibly 10s on the spray.

Good tires, 3.73, 3400-3600 stall, longtube headers and a tune to complete. If you don't want to spend major bucks on a custom dyno tune, you can google "frost tune" and get a pretty solid mail order tune for $150 I believe. You already have a project so I say don't bother with a heads/cam swap and just stick to the basic bolt ons, they can really wake these cars up for not a whole lot of $$.
You have an auto so it's not so critical but be aware the stock 10 bolt rear is weak and won't hold up forever to high RPM launches so don't launch the **** out of it from a dig.
Have fun!
