Are you planning to build a 4X4 Delta 88?

The 6.0 would be a good choice though.

Why would you want a transfer case for a 2WD car? These are for 4x4s.

If you are unsure as to whether or not you need a transfer case for this project, then the best possibile advice that anyone can offer you at this point is to do more research before jumping in. Search, read, search, and read some more. You will want to learn all the basics of what parts you need before going any further. You will have options to face where you will need to be able to make educated decisions (such as wiring harness, PCM or MSD 6010 or front mount distributor conversion, carb or fuel injection, etc.) at the time of purchasing parts and planning the details. The last thing you want is to end up buying a lot of parts that you *don't* need, or be taken by surprise at the cost/complications of some of the parts that you *do* need.

I would suggest that you start by reading the details of other conversion projects in our Conversions section on this site.

He's just new and wanting to learn. That's why he shouldn't be ridiculed. Giggle and then move on to helping him. We were all in his position at one point or another whether we want to admit it or not.
I'm glad he mentioned it because now he knows not to waste his $ on a transfer case.

Agreed, that's why I offered him the best possibile advice for his situation: Do more reseach and reading before making any purchases or decisions.

Again, agreed. There was no ridicule at all in my post, just honest advice based on the facts of the situation. If that's not helpful, then I don't know what is.

First step should be some extensive reading and research about the LSx conversion process that others' have completed. Then more specific questions can be asked and answered.

You've mistaken my comment as directed at you. I probably could have been more obvious about which responses were too harsh.
I agree that reading and searching is the best course of action, especially for the long run.

No offense taken it happens on other boards/forums as well. I am appreciative of the information that both of you have provided so far. I have yet too find any Delta 88 conversions thats imparitive to my year but I have found Chevy Caprice builds which i'm hearing should be similar.

I am not a mechanic but I have done some of minor wrenching on my car and have a fair idea of the complexity's of the modern car. Doing an engine swap like for like is not easy but replacing an engine with a totally different system is extremely difficult.
I give full props when I read in the conversions sections what people have done but their knowledge and experience is not something picked up overnight.
