How can I tell if my motor is a LS6? It is a 01 from a TA with the WS6 package and it does have the LS6 intake.

You have to look at the back of the block for the ID number. I don't know what the number is but if you do a little looking around on here you should be able to find the information. If the motor is in the car, you can use a small mirror and try to see it. Having an LS6 block won't make it any faster though, unless you just want to know. Hope this helps...

Heads should have 241 stamped on them. Cam specs are 197/207 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.467" / 0.479" int/exh lift
116 LSA

If my motor is a LS6 would I have the 207/217 @ 0.05 Duration, .525"/525" lift, 116 LSA?

Your engine is not an LS6 if it originally came out of an '01 Trans Am. No F-body ever came stock with a complete LS6 engine. Ever.

You would definitely have an LS6 intake, and might possibly have an LS6 block, but definitely not the LS6 heads/cam (stock). The only way you could possibily have a complete LS6 engine in that '01 TA is if someone swapped it in at some point, but it's unlikely they would go to all the trouble of an engine swap without upgrading beyond just the LS6 cam.
